Supporting Women, One Compliment at a Time

By SaveYourSelf.biz

I recently had this exchange with another woman while out shopping for sweatpants:

Me: I love, love, love your romper.

Her: Girl, I got this for $24.99 at Marshalls—and that includes the shirt underneath.

We both laughed because these types of exchanges are so common among women. We share the deal. We pass along the shortcut. We share the link to the item. We tell each other where to go, what to buy and how to save.

Madeleine Albright once said there’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women. I’ve always felt the truth in that—not as judgment, but as a call to action. Because supporting each other isn’t just about being nice, it’s about being intentional.

To me, here’s what supporting women looks like:

  • Explaining something another woman was too afraid to ask
  • Sharing resources saving another woman time, stress or money
  • Opening doors and inviting women to have a seat at the table
  • Telling a friend, “here’s what I learned,” so they don’t have to learn it the hard way
  • Saying someone’s name in a room they’re not in
  • Passing along the “$24.99 romper” moments—big or small

At SaveYourSelf, supporting women sits at the center of everything we do. Yes, we talk about money—how to earn it, manage it, grow it. But we also talk about how we move with it. Financial empowerment doesn’t happen in isolation; it happens in community.

That’s how knowledge compounds.

That’s how confidence builds.

That’s how wealth—real wealth—starts to take shape.

And let’s be honest: The world hasn’t always been designed for women to win easily, especially when it comes to money, access and opportunity.

So, when we choose to support each other, we’re not just being kind. We’re being strategic. We’re closing gaps. We’re creating networks. We’re building something bigger than ourselves.

So, the next time you find something good—a deal, a resource, a contact, a lesson—pass it along. And remember, that moment in the store wasn’t about a romper, it was about abundance.

There is enough.

Enough opportunity.

Enough success.

Enough room for all of us.
